If you are currently a cable TV customer, maybe you have been looking to switch over to a satellite TV provider like Direct TV. Maybe you have been apprehensive, thinking that satellite service is unreliable, or that the discounts available don’t stack up with your cable packages. The other option in many neighborhoods is a new service called Verizon Fios. Are you making the right choice by selecting a Direct TV package or Verizon Fios instead of staying with Comcast or Time Warner?

You might be surprised to find out that DirecTV and Fios offer just as much programming as cable.  A bas e package like the Choice package will give you 150 plus channels right off the bat. This package is priced in line with a basic cable package that you might purchase from Time Warner or Brighthouse. You will find over 100 video channels, and around 50 audio channels here and the regular price is around $55 per month.

Fios sells their TV Essentials bundle for about $50 a month. It goes without saying they want you to purchase other services as well. High speed internet and home phone calling are also available with Fios, so you can get a triple play bundle.

Now if you have an all inclusive bundle with your cable TV company, you know how costly that can be. Generally, regular pricing on these packages with you cable company usually run about $180 per month. Direct TV offers a package called the Premier bundle which has everything for around $110 a month including HD channels. You do have to pay $10 extra for high definition, but you are still looking at a nice savings over cable. Another option is comparing Dish satellite vs Verizon Fios to see which is right for you.  Check online, as there are lots of Fios TV deals.

Whatever your programming choices are, evaluating satellite television packages is a smart thing to do in today’s economy, especially when cable TV prices keep on increasing. Looking into other services like Verizon Fios and comparing them with the latest DIRECTV offer is a good idea.

5 Stars Perfect
Just to be concise, this case fits the IPOD Touch perfectly. A nice leather case much like a thin wallet, and all connection points and controls are easy to get to. Has a clip on it for your belt and just overall works extremely well. No downside. I had gator like case for my last ipod, but the screen was getting scratched throwing it a backpack, gym bag etc. This case has a great flip cover with a magnet to keep it closed. Once you put it in the case, there really won’t be a need to take it out. This case works. Period. Do not hesitate to buy.

3 Stars Not bad, could be better
I just got this case, took about two weeks to ship with free shipping. It seems like a nice case, but my main concern is that the belt clip does not detach. Not sure why I thought it would, but it adds almost a half an inch to the thickness of the whole thing. If I had known, I would have gotten one without a belt clip. Otherwise, it’s a nice case. Not sure how much I’ll use it.

3 Stars Not So Great
The DLO HipCase is OK, but not so great. I would not recommend this product if you have fat fingers and/or type a lot on your ipod.

PROS

—————-

The leather is nice.

The stitching on the one I received seems fine.

And, I like the fact that it flips open, because I feel like it offers nice protection for the ipod.

CONS

—————

Unfortunately, (as another reviewer mentioned) the leather on the borders gets in the way and makes it difficult to type on the keyboard when the device is vertical. After a week of struggling to get the “p” key to work (on the edge of your Qwerty keyboard), I switched to a different case (Tumi T-Tech Hard Skin Case) and I now type with ease.

5 Stars LOVE LOVE this case!!
I LOVE this case!! this is the second one I have bought. I got one for my ipod classic and one for my ipod touch.

I like that they are firm enough to carry in my purse and it protects the screen and buttons. i like that it has the magnetic closure to keep the flap closed. it also has a belt clip which is great to hook to your pocket or jeans.

this is the only case that i have for my ipods, and i wouldnt buy anything else!!

5 Stars Quality Case for the iPod Touch
I just ordered this case with the new iPod Touch a few days ago. After using it for a brief period, I can say that I definitely am glad that I ordered this case.

The rich, soft leather looks and feels great with the added bonus of protecting your iPod Touch. The attached belt clip is very convenient for carrying around your iPod, and I’m glad they included it. The case is designed so that you can attach your USB cable and earphones without taking the iPod Touch out of the case. The front cover is held in place by magnets which works great and means you don’t have any unsightly snaps or flaps to deal with. When you open the case the flap just swings around to the back and doesn’t interfere with any operations you need to perform. It’s thick enough, yet light, so that if you drop your iPod it will be well protected.

Bottom line is I recommend this case very highly. Don’t bother with the cheap cases. You get what you pay for and I think this is good value for the money.

5 Stars Definitely worth it
Good price. Good design. Simple and effective. Fully charges quickly. Runs and charges other devices for a long time. Everything they advertise about it is true. Feels solid. It is definitely worth the money. I go hiking twice a week and I keep my iPhone fully charged for the whole hike. I use my iPhone to track my hike which uses GPS and I also use stereo bluetooth headphones to listen to music the whole time, those two things together use a lot of juice. It is no problem for this little device. I highly recommend it.

5 Stars Great! Worth every penny!
Great product. It is very easy to use and really comes in handy when you are on long flights.

5 Stars fantastic charger
We bought two of these battery packs. One for each iphone 3G. They are great. Easily fits in my purse and my husband has a small case to carry it. When Iphone battery is low just plug it in and it will recharge in a short time. You get multiple charges from the battery pack before it needs to be recharged. The battery pack doesn’t take very long to charge either. Now when we are out for any length of time we feel secure that we can use our iphones without worrying about the batteries running out.

5 Stars Works great with IPhone 3G
What you need to know:

1. Charges the iPhone a little over 1.5 times. Quick charging.

2. LED lights let you know approximately how much charge is left.

3. Small and compact. Smaller and thinner than iPhone.

4. Use the wall charger to directly charge iPhone.

Only Con:

The charging cable from the battery to the iPhone is too long. Doesn’t need to be that long.

Uses:

1. Watching video on long flights.

2. I use an iPhone app for navigating through the wilderness when backpacking. The app allows pre-loaded topo maps (you don’t need a cell phone connection) and tracks your position via GPS. The battery charger allows me to use the iPhone GPS app for extended outdoor trips.

1 Star Big and clumsy
Note how the battery capacity isn’t listed in the Product Description nor in the Technical Details: you have to click “See more technical details” to find it. Maybe it’s because the capacity is only 1800mAh, the same as the much smaller battery packs from 3GJuice and IPWR. The claims that are made in the Product Description (100 hours of music, 21 hours of video, 6 hours of talk) are certainly a stretch and borderline misleading, thus my 1-star rating. The actual performance consists simply in adding one extra battery life to your iPhone: when the phone is down to 0, connect the battery pack and it recharges it to 100%. Now the problem is that this battery pack is almost as big as the phone itself, so if you want to place or receive a call while it’s charging you need to find the room in your pocket and the dangling cable gets in the way. The smaller packs I mentioned above are much more convenient: you snap them onto the phone and off you go. They are a bit more expensive but when you are looking at that kind of product, portability is one of the most important features. They also keep their charge much longer when not in use (several months) so you can stash one in a suitcase or a glove compartment and forget about it until you need it.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Product by Logitech
I just received the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 in the mail yesterday, and so far it’s been almost everything I need in a speaker dock.

I had somewhat low expectations for the sound quality, seeing how compact the speakers are and that they are designed to run on a battery. The sound is great all things considered. Bass is actually somewhat impressive, although it can’t quite keep up with the low lows on hip hop or R&B songs.

Pros

- Sound Quality

- Compact size

- Great design, especially the AC adapter

- Comes with a carrying case, and everything fits perfectly within in

Cons

- Somewhat expensive at a list price of $150 (i got it refurbished for $70 on ebay

- Have not had a chance to truly test the 10 hour rated battery

- No Aux input, only a headphone jack

I highly recommend this for anyone looking to take their music everywhere, I took it to the beach last night and it was great.

1 Star Totally Not Worth the Money
I hate these speakers I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless my ipod is on the speakers they make a horrible noise half the time i can’t get them to work the volume only works when they are charging they’re just horrible.

1 Star Defective Product
Cons

- Battery does not work

- Remote does not work

- Shuts off after a couple of minutes

4 Stars How to stop speaker shut down…
Great little speaker system when you need something more than your laptop’s speakers while traveling. But, the unit kept shutting down (turning off) every minute or so. I thought the Anywhere 2 must be defective and too late to do much about it in Panama. I read online about resetting (hole in bottom of unit, insert pen tip for several seconds), but that did nothing. Then I found the solution. If your laptop’s sound output is low (the audio signal is low), the Anywhere apparently thinks it is no longer getting a sound signal and shuts down to conserve battery life. The Anywhere does this even when plugged in (that is, even when not running on the battery alone). The trick is to turn your laptop’s sound up (on my system if I kept the sound volume at 35% or above, then, the Anywhere stayed on and did not shut down on the minute). So, problem solved! Other than the initial shutting off problem, the speakers are really excellent for the compact size, the remote is great and the carry bag is a nice touch to stow the Anywhere in my suitcase while traveling. Hope this helps you with your Anywhere.

5 Stars Small and Terrific
Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Compact Speakers for iPod and iPhone (Black) I am purely delighted with this small wonder. I do not like to wear earphones for over a half-hour, and this speaker gives me good sound from my iPods without the aggravation of ear plugs. The fidelity is very good even at low volume, and I appreciate the bass. I especially enjoy the convenience of the remote control which works perfectly. I find myself listening to the radio, especially NPR, through the iPod touch as it gives better and more reliable fidelity than my regular radios.

DB Premium iPhone 3G Full LCD Screen Protector 3 Pack

This premium quality non-oem iPhone 3G Screen Protector, protects against scratches to your iPhone 3G screen, Great for people who are always on the go!

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Does not fit the 3g.
I’m glad the item is cheap because I didn’t lose much in the purchase. This item DOES NOT fit the iPhone 3g, it is too small. I’m disappointed, and won’t buy from this seller again.

1 Star Useless lint magnets
After cleaning my iPhone screen with the included polish cloth and applying the protector per the instructions, I found multiple specs of dust wedged between the protector and the screen. I removed the proector and found it was no longer usable, impossible to clean. Once a spec of dust or lint from the air clings to the sticky side of the screen protector you have to throw it away. “Unlucky first try” I thought. So I went through this same experience two more times. Each time there was dust or lint from the air that had clung to the sticky side of the protector in the brief window of time I had to apply the protector to the iPhone screen. Thus the product was completely useless to me. If you decide to buy this, I wish you better luck. I would suggest that cleaning the screen before applying is insufficient — make sure you are in a completely dust-free, lint-free environment. The protector is a magnet for particles and they cannot be removed once stuck.

5 Stars Ignore the ignorant – this is a great item!!
I have to give people credit for being a lot dumber than they look. Read any number of product reviews out there and you’ll be convinced that nothing works, nothing is of good quality, and that everyone is out to take you. Come on people – get real. For a penny, I got three screen protectors that arrived very quickly. Had instructions and even an LCD cleaning cloth included. For a penny, this was way better than the screen protector that I paid $20 for at the Apple store. The reason you get 3, is that the first one is kind of tricky to apply. Try it, toss it, and by the second try you’ll have it down packed. Your screen will be protected and the sun will rise again tomorrow. Don’t get side tracked by all the comments that put a negative spin on this product – it is an excellent product. And it costs a friggin’ penny.

1 Star Nope
I would rather go with an invisiblesheild.

This product is a pain to apply and dust tends to accumulate between it and the phone making it very unpleasant to look at. The surface feels nice and the color from the screen is not lost. But all that is lost with the practicality of the product.

Do not recommend.

2 Stars What you pay is What you get?
Not bad for the price, but not the best either. I was able to apply without any bubbles and smudges(that anyhow doesn’t depend on the protector but rather how u apply it). All is fine, but im not very impressed with the clarity of the screen after applying it. It shows a shady image of the screen, and that is irritating. But, protection is really good; but for me what’s the point of protection if it spoils the display experience.

The screen display changes as if the screen has a low resolution. I am really not recommending for that reason.

iKross 3 Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for iPod touch Clear

Inspire’s Clear Overlay Protector for iPod Touch offers a virtually transparent protective shield for your entire iPod screen. Protect your iPod from scratches and minor damages. Easily apply to your screen and device without adhesive.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great Product
For the price of this product I did not expect it to work so good. As any LCD screen cover, you need to be careful to prevent it from bubble up; beside it works fine.

1 Star didn’t get what I ordered or expected
I ordered two 3 packs and got 2 iPod Touch screen guards & not the iKross indicated. I have contacted the seller requesting at least a partial refund. The screen guard that I got installed OK and seems fine but I’m pretty sure 1 screen guard is not worth the $2.99 I paid for the 3 promised.

5 Stars Unexpectedly EXCELLENT!
At first, I figured that a 3-pack wouldn’t be near enough for my iPod, but it turns out that these screen protectors are magnificent. I have used it for already a month and not one iota of wear or tear has appeared on the screen protector. It protects the screen very well!

3 Stars Great, but came scratched…
Pros:

After 3 months I am still using the first of the three protectors. I have my ITouch in a case and the case keeps it from peeling off.

Cons:

I was disappointed that the protectors were already scratched when I got them. Also the sticker that comes on the protector left a nasty sticky residue in the top corner of the protector. I still haven’t been able to get it off.

5 Stars LCF SCREEN PROTECTOR
this was the buy of the century for me!! i bought 3 packs, figuring they would have a limited life & would need replacing with regularity – how wrong that was. applies so simply i could not believe it. had used other screen protectors with other phones, this is way different. EXTREMELY thin, does not interfere with touch screen at all. liked it so much i gave 2 to a couple of students – they keep telling me how much they love it! easier to clean than the iPod touch screen and you can’t even tell it’s there. gave my itouch to a friend to ‘play with’ for several minutes & to see if it felt unusual or stiff. he thought it was unusually responsive but credited that to it’s being an apple iPod touch. when i told him there was a screen protector on it, like me he couldn’t believe it. and i cannot believe the price! buy a bunch, keep several for yourself and give the rest away to ipod touch users & you will make long lasting friendships – just don’t tell them how little you spent!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars amazing
Player: iphone 3g

Music in order preference: jungle; dnb;dubstep;triphop;house;trance;rock;rap;

I have used the Sony MDR-EX51LP and Maximo iM-390 iMetalT. Both of which were comfortable for extended use (just like these) and had decent sound reproduction.

I got this set for a steal (24$) and after 1 week of using them I have concluded that they are the best ear buds that I have ever bought!

The bass is not only adequate, but tight, without being overwhelming.

The mids, which are usually lost with cheap buds are present and clear and the highs are crisp and clear.

There is no distortion even at full volume.

If you think you don’t have enough bass, USE THE BIGGER BUDS PROVIDED.

The click-skip functionally for the iphone works as described (I wish there was a way I would scrub within tracks).

Bottom-line, these come closest to reproducing the sound of my pioneer hdj1000 for a fraction of the price and size. I highly recommend these.

4 Stars Great but too big
These sound awesome for the price but they are a little too big to fit in the ear, even on the smallest ear pieces that come in the package.

4 Stars Good sound for the price
These are a great value for the price. They come with several sizes of ear inserts which make them quite comfortable. The sound is much better than the stock earpieces that come with most equipment and the microphone works well in outdoor settings as well as indoors. These are not comparable to the high buck phones but have an excellent sound for cheap. If you haven’t done so yet, buy a set.

3 Stars could be more durable
i had these for less than a month and the right earbud gave out. while they worked, they had a pretty decent sound. i enjoyed using them because even though they are a bit large, they seem to form to my ear fairly well. the bass response wasn’t as good as the skullcandy ink’d earbuds that i had prior to this pair, but the mids and highs were a little more present. i can live with that because they are designed to work with a music phone (such as an iphone) and voices are reproduced quite well.

had they been more durable, i would not have bothered me. i liked them enough to pay $25, but not much more. please note that i take care of my earbuds and did not abuse them. i don’t know why the one earbud went out, but that is really my only major complaint.

5 Stars Ev’s Evaluation
These are great earbuds! I bought two sets, one for backup in case they wore out quickly, but it’s been over 3 months now and I am still using my first set! They sound great and I have had no problems at all. I would definitely recommend these to anybody who needs a really great set of earphones. I use them at work on my iPod for 8-10 hours per night, and have had no problems whatsoever. Go ahead and buy a pair; you’ll be glad you did.

Glide, Flick, Pinch
Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the Multi-Touch touchscreen interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, zoom in and out on a section of a web page, and control game elements precisely.

Type with the Touchscreen Keyboard
iPod touch features an intelligent touchscreen keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts. iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks.

Accelerometer
iPod touch responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer.

Responds to Movement
iPod touch detects when you rotate it from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display. So you immediately see the entire width of a web page, view a photo in its proper aspect ratio, or control a game using only your movements.

How it Works
The accelerometer inside iPod touch uses three elements: a silicon mass, a set of silicon springs, and an electrical current. The silicon springs measure the position of the silicon mass using the electrical current. Rotating iPod touch causes a fluctuation in the electrical current passing through the silicon springs. The accelerometer registers these fluctuations and tells iPod touch to adjust the display accordingly.

Perfect for Gaming
Accelerometer technology really shines when you play games because it immerses you in the action. It’s perfect for racing games–where your entire iPod touch acts as a steering wheel–and for tap-and-tilt games like Super Monkey Ball, in which your character responds to your every movement.

Wireless
Connect iPod touch to the Internet anywhere there’s a wireless network.

Connect Automatically
iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks. If you’ve never used a particular network, it asks you to enter a password the first time, and it remembers the password from then on. So the next time you’re within range, it connects automatically.

Surf’s Up
Now you can send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Shop for games from your couch. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hotspots in your area.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Fun for everyone!
My 14YO received this as a gift and he has hardly put it down since. For the most part, he uses this more often than his laptop. He has games, access to the internet, videos, applications, information, emails– including his ‘top secret’ yahoo and google email accounts… It has everything a 14 YO could ever want or need.

One thing that concerned me, before we even selected this one, was the reports of problems people had with their ipods getting water damage from humid environments or from sweating while working out. It seems ridiculous that Apple has not addressed this problem and seems content to let the problem be the responsibility of an unsuspecting public. But that was also the way they dealt with our irreplaceable batteries on the first generation ipods. It wasn’t until enough pressure was put on Apple that the batteries became available and could be replaced instead of replacing the ipod. I have not heard a word about Apple addressing this problem.

To protect us from this problem, my 14YO uses other devices when he is out running or for carrying around to school or sailing. That has worked out for a variety of reasons, including his amazing and incredible ability to set things down and walk away from them.

4 Stars All around great
I love the iPod touch. The 32 GB would have been great if I was able to get it shipped to me from the seller that I tried to go thru… Said that they didn’t have a printer to print out the customs forms to send it to my deployed location. I had to settle for the 16GB version. I could have really used the extra space, but the touch is perfect for me here. Don’t have to carry around my laptop any more. Got everything on the touch. It is kind of wierd that you can’t use the normal chargers for this version. You have to use the plug that you plug the USB into, don’t get the firewire version or it’ll say that it is not supported.

5 Stars wonderful
this is a wonderful product easy to use I would recommend this product to anyone and the other reviews that says that it scratches easy well I bought a case for it and it is fine the price is worth it.

5 Stars iTouch for Father’s Day
I purchased the iTouch 16 GB for my husband for Father’s Day. I was suprised at how quickly it came. In less than 4 days. It turned out to be the perfect gift. He uses it daily! He really likes the touch screen. It’s simple and intuitive to use. I think I’ll ask for one for my birthday.

5 Stars ipod touch is great!
The ipod touch is the first ipod I’ve owned. Aside from the fact that I wished the battery lasted longer, I’m really happy with it.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Might be a knockoff
Just ordered two of these. They seem to work, though they get a bit warm when plugged in.

They look very similar to the one that came with my iPhone 3GS. However, it has none of the official printing on the bottom that my apple one has. No U/L logo, no serial number. No bright green dot. Nothing, completely blank. I smell a knockoff. Be aware.

3 Stars Proper charging adapter, no cable, smudges – doesn’t seem new
I got the product that was advertised – an Apple USB Power Adapter. No cable, but there wasn’t one listed in the product description so I wasn’t really expecting one. The product came sealed in a plastic bag, but it had smudges on it, kind of like what would be left on your hands after using glue for a while. I suppose it could be new, but it makes me wonder. It did not come in Apple packaging and it did not come with a USB cable. I guess that’s what you get when trying to pay less. At least I had two USB cables already.

UPDATE – on re-reading the product description it does say a cable comes in the box. I don’t know if I should pursue this with the vendor or just be happy that I already had 2 cables to use.

5 Stars works as good as Apple
I paid ten bucks for this and it works as good as the what what is sold at the Apple store.

3 Stars Apple USB Power Adapter
The device works properly. The shipping was a problem. It took 4 weeks to arrive. It was supposed to be here before the end of May, but didn’t arrive until June 9. I ordered in plenty of time for a trip and it arrived the day we came home from the trip.

1 Star No cable, Not as Pictured, No green dot
This adapter, contrary to its description DID NOT come with an adapter cable. The adapter shipped to me DOES NOT have the correct green light dot, as pictured in the description

5 Stars ipod touch is great!
The ipod touch is the first ipod I’ve owned. Aside from the fact that I wished the battery lasted longer, I’m really happy with it.
