It looks as though two new Rhapsody-powered MP3 players are getting ready to rumble, and they won’t be satisfied until they win the world title for “most uncreative model names”. Haier America has announced the Ibiza Mini and the Ibiza Touch. Mini and Touch - now why do those sound familiar? Haier tonight added two more players to the Rhapsody ibiza line that both share direct parallels to Apple players. The ibiza Touch (pictured above) appears a higher-end counterpart to the ibiza Theatre that adds a sharper, 2.8-inch 400x240 touchscreen and Wi-Fi, which lets it browse the web, download podcasts and Real Rhapsody subscriptions, and tune Internet radio. In what may seem like a late start to the iPod race, Haier America is updating their Rhapsody Ibiza line with 2 new MP3 players: the Mini and the Touch. Sound familiar? While they are still working on getting YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter accessibility, the Mini and Touch are already set to go with Rhapsody, Flick, Audible, and Internet radio. Although bot

Looks like Yahoo and Sandisk want a piece of Apple’s IPOD market. They would combine forces to help market and create software for a hopeful IPod killer developed by SanDisk. The SanDisk Sansa?Ç¬Æ Connect?¢‚Äû¬¢ MP3 Player was launched earlier in the year, it has a capacity of 4 Gig and most importantly a Wifi connection.

It is hoped that with this Wifi capability users would purchase this Mp3 Player as it would make sharing much easier. So far only Zune has such capabilities. Besides playing music, owners with a Yahoo! ID can listen to LAUNCHcast Internet radio, browse Flickr albums and photos, and see what their friends are listening to. Sansa Connect users with a Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscription are also able to discover and download tracks and albums, and receive song recommendations from friends.

Honestly to cause a dent to Apple’s IPod market would be a long and costly fight, especially after Apple announcing today that it sold 100 million IPods to date. If this deal didn’t include Yahoo, which could tap into its large user base from Yahoo Mail, Flickr, mybloglog and its other host of services, I would outright say that SanDisk would fail. Just look at our beloved Creative as an example.
