Apple has revealed the updated of music and multimedia players iPod Series. This is previous iPod Nano featuring a speaker, microphone, FM tuner and integrated video camera. This is a product from Japan, aparrently this guy from Japan came over to Singapore for PCshow 2006 to promote their IP telephone product that integrates Video and Voice functions into a single handset. The intersting part about this phone is that it enables users to compress the video feed into Mpeg4 and stream this data to the recepient. The quality of the video is above acceptable standards for video confrencing and is said to be imporved if the bandwidth available was larger and I already thought the video stream was quite good. Also data is supposedly said to be encryted so anyone tapping into your phone/video conversation would not be able to view the stream.
The more interesting thing though is that the video can be output to a larger display via the video output port behind the phone and they actually had someone from the Japan office (the nice lady in the picture) to continuiously wave at us in the exibition hall. Perhaps this would be a nice phone to have, espicially when your loved ones are far from you.
The company assistplan also offers a range of other multimedia equiptment, one of which is a touch screen multimedia player and an Iris authentication technology!
