Read this on Reuters that Sony is going to remove a chip for their PS3 Europe launch. This is to help cut production cost of the playstation 3, so that Sony can compete better on the price factor (I guess) against its competitors Microsoft and Nintendo. The drop of this chip would lessen the backward compatibility of PS2 games. Let’s see if this move would help Sony boost their sales.

The Intel road may not be the one which Apple wants to ride on for their portable sexy iPhone, Reuters is reporting that the iPhone will not be powered by Intel. Ars Technica did a some probing and gave us some of their insights as to what will go into the iPhone.
According to a report from FBR Research, the winners are Samsung Electronics (applications/video processor), Marvell (802.11), Infineon Technologies (baseband), Broadcom Corp. (touch screen controller), and Cambridge Silicon Radio (Bluetooth).
