New LCD (Liquid Crystal Displays) are even better then the conventional CRT (Cathode Ray Tubes) we have in the market. In the past most of us who enjoyed the finer details of color would hunt the market for 8-bit panels which allow reproduction of 16.7 million colors over the LCD panel, but this is usually coupled with slow response times.
The newer LCD boasts greater contrast ratios, 30,000 : 1 and give blacker blacks as well as 36-bits of color, that’s 12-bits per channel color channel. So I guess LCDs are going to be the future and it’s not too long before everyone will be using LCDs instead of our chunky CRTs.
