Clock
A simple concept but works amazingly to impress. The hand in the form of a red ball which is presumably magnetic being moved by another magenet attatched to the rotor under the clock face. I wonder if there be wear and tear where the red ball travels, cause it’ll leave a nasty ring around the path.

The clock is cool and retails for USD$48 at the MoMAstore

The XPB Ice Silicon Keyboard Skin for the MacBook Pro is a 0.5mm protective film for your MacBook Pro and Powerbook, the skin prevents foreign elements from entering the gaps between the keys of your notebook.

XPB Pic 1

Although there is a slight difference in the feel while typing because of a little more resistence while the skin is on, but one would have the peace of mind knowing that their keys would be protected from wear and tear as well as dirt which in the long run would damage your keyboard.

The skin looks durable and would withstand 1-2 years of normal usage, the only problem with silicon skins are that some turn yellowish after a few months of usage other then that this is great as a protection for your smacking new MacBook Pro.

Techpresso Ratings: 4/5

Pros:

  • Fits nicely ontop of the keys
  • soft and comfortable to type on
  • prevents dust and foreign objects from entering the keys

Cons:

  • Heat gets trapped under the sleve
  • Shifts about when you accidently brush across the skin

Skin is available from Lajo, manufacturer for silicon skin cases

AVA Trackpad Review Image

Trackpad Savior is a clear film that can be used to protect your MacBook / MacBook Pro track pad and prevent it from scratches and wear and tear. After making a heafty investment on your notebook it would be wise to put a little investment in some protection.

Logo Trackpad

The great thing about the protectors is that it’s relatively think about 0.19mm, it gives a matte finish while preserving the natural color of the MacBook Pro. The great thing about the matte finsh is that it gives a paper feel when using the track pad for navigation. I felt that while the trackpad was bare it felt a little sticky and sometimes it’s harder to navigate the screen, perhaps it is a psychological thing not wanting to wear out the pad, after application of the Savior I could smoothly navigate the screen with no loss of precision. An addition button protector is included which is the same film but the size of the button. Very detail workmanship as the protector applies and fills up the whole trackpad with almost no gaps at all and the sharp corners are slightly corned to give a smoother feel.

Application is easy just follow one side of the trackpad and stick the rest down into place, everything can be done within minutes. Great value and enhances navigation, I highly recommend this to those who own a MacBook / MacBook Pro.

The problem with these protectors is that vendors seem to forget that users may not know how to remove the protectors properly and end up damaging them, proper instructions if given with the package would furthur sweeten the deal for consumers.

Techpresso Ratings: 4.5/5

Pros:

  • Removable and Reusable
  • Fits nicely onto trackpad
  • Easy application
  • Enhances on screen cursor control
