Employees of Microsoft arent having a good start for 2009. There is a rumor that Microsoft is going to cut back on 17% of its workforce. The report states that most of the staff to be lay off would come mainly from MSN and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
The timing of this cant be at a worst time, where most of the global economies are suffering from major recessions. Now it seems like might Microsoft is also affected by the financial meltdown or is it a fat cutting exercise?

It’s the new year and I believe there are some websites reporting about web 3.0. But I thought why not compile a list of web 2 applications that I have been using for 2006 and some web 2.0 applications that I might try in 2007.
Here’s the list of web 2 applications
Del.icio.us – Social bookmarking site, love it for making bookmarking so simple and easy. Plus I think the url is simply cool
Stumbleupon.com – A great tool to find new websites that you never imagine exists online. I found several get websites here.
Pageflakes.com – Allows users to customize their front page to pull in information from around the web. I didn’t really use this site, but I thought it might be good to mention.
Ajax13.com – Web Office application that I haven’t tried. But I tried Google SpreadSheets and Google Word (writely) they are ok for normal usage. Not sure about this Ajax13, might give it a shot in future.
Linkin.com – Professional Social Network, I feel this site has a big future. Linkin helps professionals socialize virtually and make new connections and business deals.?Ǭ† A tip for friendster would be to follow Linkin, after all the college students in friendster will have to come out to the workforce sooner or later.
